Dane County Farmers’ Market – Market Assistant

Description: The DCFM is seeking a Market Assistant to assist in managing all activities involved with the administration of the Dane County Farmers’ Market outdoor markets: the Wednesday Market downtown and the Saturday Market on the Square.

The Market Assistant position benefits from a diverse skill set, flexibility, and passion for the market. The position requires an ability to take decisive action, knowledge of agriculture and local foods, as well as demonstrated office and people skills.

Pay/Location: This is a part-time, April - November position that averages 20 hours per week with a pay rate of $20/hour (negotiable). The Market Assistant reports directly to the DCFM Market Manager and Asst. Market Manager. When not at the market, job duties are performed remotely. The DCFM does not have a physical office.

Benefits: This position offers 20 hours of paid time off and a $50/month cell phone stipend. The Market Assistant can expect support for market related professional development and networking events.

Dane County Farmers’ Market – Bookkeeper

Description: The DCFM is seeking a bookkeeper to assist in managing the organization’s finances, reimbursing farmers for SNAP payments, and general payroll and liabilities administration.

Pay/Location: This is a part-time, 20 hours per month position with a pay rate of $25/hour (negotiable). The Market Assistant reports directly to the DCFM Market Manager. Job duties are performed remotely, the DCFM does not have a physical office.

Dane County Farmers’ Market – Sanitation Employee

Pay: $18/hr

Schedule: April 15 - November 11, Saturdays 8am-2pm

We usually have at least two sanitation employees so that they can trade off the dates that work best for them. Only one sanitation employee will be on site each Saturday along with a Manager-on-Site, the Food Access Coordinator, and DCFM Information Booth Volunteers.

Location: Downtown Madison, Capitol Square

Responsibilities: Replace full trash and recycling bins around the Square (there are 8 pairs total) and use the DCFM cart to bring the full bags to a City provided dumpster a block off of the Square. Break down recycling bins, put trash cans back in their cages at the end of the market, and collect trash can covers from around the Square at the end of the market.
